Job Description

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Creates templates and all required graphics for external and internal presentations, collateral, and digital communications. Creates the design and layout, and coordinates production of various materials including printed brochures, flyers, boards, and some multi-media designs, to create an image, communicate concepts, or deliver a message in the most effective way.

Primary Focus Will Include:

Creates print and digital materials such as PowerPoint presentations, charts, maps, infographics, display boards, newsletters, social media images and flyer layouts

Develop brand elements such as logos, designs and illustrations

Follows visual identity direction

Extend design concepts across traditional and digital forms, both templated and original

Participates in creative and design meetings

Brainstorms new ideas and creates concepts for visually communicating key messages

Maintains and organizes digital assets such as icons, photography and stock graphics

Coordinates with print vendors and photographers

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects), Microsoft Office, and other communications-related software

Ability to give/take constructive feedback well

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

Ability to assess problems and implement solutions

Possess a teamwork mentality

Ability to create and code HTML

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Essential Responsibilities:

Creates detailed charts and graphs illustrating HNTB’s strategy for the project to clients. Designs covers, tabs and dividers that are required for client submission presentations. Prepares preliminary sketches, renderings, and/or mock-ups, coordinates customer approval, or recommends and performs modifications as needed. Performs final design and layout of materials, including color schemes, typefaces, camera-ready artwork, cutting overlays, etc. Interacts with HNTB staff and clients to create initial materials, concepts and ideas that conform to client needs and timelines.

Develops materials for interviewing with the client, such as boards, PowerPoint presentations and leave behinds.

Assists in concept development of program identified, logos and other graphic elements to graphically link program materials.

Designs and performs preliminary layout of various materials including brochures, flyers, media release templates, exhibit boards, newsletters, report covers and other printed materials.

Helps coordinate production of materials by outside vendors as well as internal staff. Provides detailed and accurate cost estimates for all printed graphics.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Communications, Art, Graphic Design, or related area

3 years art/graphic design experience

In lieu of education, 7 years art/graphic design experience
