We are seeking a Software Engineering Lead for programs in our C2, Space and Intelligence Solutions mission area in Aurora, Colorado. The candidate must have experience and knowledge leading software engineering activities using modern methodologies. The candidate will work as part of a development team which utilizes a diverse dynamic workforce, including many experts in their fields throughout the design, development and maintenance life cycle.

The selected candidate must have an active TS/SCI clearance.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
* Lead a team to design, develop, integrate, and maintain software in a scrum team environment
* Manage daily meetings, team assignments, and priorities
* Identify and remove road blocks impeding the development process
* Collect, track, and take action on process metrics
* Manage daily software development activities supporting schedule (IMS) and earned value (EV).
* Work with other leads to apply consistency across development teams
* Establish, communicate and follow SW processes and procedures for development, architectural compliance, documentation, external and internal interfaces, and other software engineering work products/artifacts
* Provide leadership for the software architecture team in proposals, preliminary design and detailed design
* Present to customers and users effectively and professionally
* Work closely with the systems design team to implement all aspects of the system
* Define and lead implementation of software prototypes to demonstrate capabilities and burn down risk
* Create SW cost estimates, tasks & schedules
* Mentor developers on development lifecycle
* Understand and design software interfaces
* Use deep knowledge of object-oriented C++ and Java design, coding and application of architectural design patterns to support development
* Complete assigned tasks to achieve program milestones
* Communicate complex and diverse engineering topics to achieve team consensus
* Develop, modernize and manage critical infrastructure and applications for the intelligence customers
* Provide thought leadership in constellation management, common ground and integrated enterprise management solutions
* Implement automated testing and deployment techniques using a DevOps approach
* Adhere to accepted standards for development, including writing automated unit tests which provide a high percentage of code coverage, participating in peer code reviews, conducting design reviews, and generating test plans to ensure maximum stability and quality of code
* Demonstrate completed software stories and features

Security Requirements:
Must have an existing Top Secret SCI clearance with current SSBI

Required Skills:

* 8+ years of relevant experience in software engineering

Desired Skills:

* 3+ years of experience leading software teams
* 4+ years of experience programming Java and/or C++
* Experience with Agile development methods
* Proficiency in Unix and/or Linux Knowledge
* Understanding of software development life cycles
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with coworkers, and customers in a high-paced team environment
* Presentation and documentation skills
* Experience with Software design tools such as Rational Rose, Rhapsody, or comparable tools
* Experience with scripting is a plus (Ruby, Perl, Python, PHP, etc.)
* Experience and/or knowledge with Web Service design and development
* Experience and/or knowledge with Service Oriented Architecture
* Experience and/or knowledge with Security related software development
* Experience and/or knowledge with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) like Eclipse
* Experience and/or knowledge with DevOps and Continuous Integration
* Ability to design, develop, integrate and maintain new software functionality
* Ability to work with previously written code and make modifications as necessary
* Ability to work closely with other disciplines (systems, networking, IS, configuration management, and test engineers) to troubleshoot and fix problems
* Contribute to the completion of program and project milestones under the specific guidance of his/her immediate supervisor
* Ability to follow established SW processes and procedures, development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment level), external and internal interfaces, and other software engineering work products/artifacts
* Knowledge and/or experience with mission management/scheduling/flight dynamics, to include: Satellite ground systems, Mission Management systems, Planning and Scheduling, Command and Telemetry, Flight Dynamics models, Digital Signal Processing (FFTs, modulation/demodulation techniques

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline discipline from an accredited University required.

In compliance with Colorados Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $98,700 to $187,500; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidates work experience, education/training, and key skills.
