Job Description

Position Summary

The Accountant – PP&E is directly responsible for various aspects of the accounting of PP&E for the company’s business subsidiaries as well as other functions directly associated as defined by management.

General Duties and Responsibilities

The following items are expected to be completed on a regular basis to fulfill the requirements of the above mentioned position:

Complete various aspects of PP&E accounting related to various business entities, including:
Complete the Fixed Asset Subledger and Projects Module transactions and subledger journal entries in preparation of interfaces to the General Ledge
Calculate and record monthly close General Ledger journal entries.
Ensure proper Construction In Process (CIP) recognition for various business subsidiaries.
Prepare fixed asset roll-forward schedules and related balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis, including the Fixed Asset Subledger to General Ledger tie out
Complete monthly flux analysis
Perform accounting for the company’s various intangible assets and related balance sheet reconciliations
Perform accounting for the company’s asset retirement obligations and related balance sheet reconciliations
Perform accounting for the company’s CIP/Projects and related balance sheet reconciliations
Review and approve AP invoices coded to assigned Projects
Review and approve new AFEs for assigned areas
Track Capital Asset Authorization for Expenditures (AFEs) related to ongoing fixed asset projects.
Meet regularly with Project Managers to follow up on project statuses,
Assist in the preparation of various schedules for annual audit and quarterly reviews.
Act as a primary contact when interacting with business unit managers, accounting colleagues, other departments, and senior management with respect to areas of individual responsibility.
Assist the Tax Department with the preparation and filing of various tax returns requiring fixed asset data.
Research and resolve various complex fixed asset accounting issues.
Assist in the design, development, documentation, and implementation of internal controls.
Perform other duties as requested.
Regular attendance at the worksite is required. 

Position Qualifications:  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Motivated self-starter possessing strong organizational, and analytical skills.
Ability to function independently with minimal direction, as well as in a team environment.
Must be detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
Must take initiative to consistently meet internal deadlines; demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required; advanced knowledge of Excel is strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of accounting software systems is required; Oracle experience is desired.
Must be dependable with a stable work history.
Ability to maintain stability under pressure and be flexible and willing to modify plans and behavior when necessary.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and/or holidays if necessary
Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.
Ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers.
Must be committed to working safely at all times.

Experience/Education:

Bachelors degree is required.
Active CPA or CPA eligible is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including work directly related to PP&E accounting, is preferred.
Experience in the midstream oil and gas industry is preferred.
Experience working at a publicly traded company is preferred.

Travel:

Minimal travel required.

The Retail Propane segment sells propane, distillates, and equipment and supplies to end users consisting of residential, agricultural, commercial, and industrial customers, as well as resellers.

The Refined Products and Renewables segment markets gasoline, diesel, ethanol, and biodiesel products; and purchase and delivers refined petroleum and renewable products. This segment also purchases and markets unfinished gasoline blending components for subsequent blending into finished gasoline for third parties. NGL Energy Holdings LLC serves as the general partner of the company. The company was founded in 1940 and is headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
