Analyst, Fraud Intelligence & Strategy
Overview
MasterCard Cyber & Intelligence Solutions (C&I) team develops and delivers world-class risk, security products and services for MasterCard customers across the globe. As part of this organization, the Fraud Intelligence & Strategy Team (FIS) is responsible for:
Providing fraud analytics and insights to Mastercard and its worldwide customers
Developing new products to help all participants in the payment system prevent fraud
Maintenance and development of existing and new fraud prevention and monitoring data driven products/services Position Overview
Role:
Assist with data pulls and development of reports/dashboards to support fraud analyses and development of fraud reduction solutions
Assist with the analysis and investigation of fraud data and overall payment system integrity reporting requests to understand fraud patterns and support analysis needs for the development of proposals to prevent, detect, reduce or recover fraud losses.
Support the development of tools and methodologies to proactively identify new fraud trends, as new payment transaction types and new technologies are introduced and gain momentum, and with the education of various stakeholders on the meaning of the identified fraud trends and recommendations
Assist with the evaluation of new software and tools to enhance the look and feel of fraud reports.
Researching and staying current on advances in technology to identify internal opportunities for improvement
Support manager in prototyping of new products and ideas
Writing basic documentation (e.g., business continuity)
All about you
Intermediate knowledge of SQL for querying various data platforms (e.g. Oracle, Hadoop Hive/Impala/Spark, etc.)
Intermediate knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau)
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, including significant experience with PowerPoint and Excel in presenting data insights
Preferred: basic knowledge of Unix / Linux platforms (including command line, shell scripting), Microsoft BI stack (including DAX and PowerPivot), and/or Webfocus
Degree in quantitative discipline preferred (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering)
Strong oral and written communication skills (presentations, publishing papers, blogs)
Curious and inquisitive mind and passion for solving problems and learning new tools, technologies, and programming languages
High energy level; flexible, adaptive and strong collaborator
Well planned, organized & structured to manage time & work effectively
