Main objectives of the position:
Lead Purchasing team to meet and execute year over year cost reductions using traditional and nontraditional methods.
Support CV and LV-Driveshaft product group plants in North America in matrix organization.
Insure supplier performance in PPM and Delivery meeting SCMG objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare files and presentations that follow a logically reasoned, data supported approach, allowing executives to understand detailed analyses in the context of an overarching business case. Achieves annual cost reduction objectives, including full implementation of supplier contracts.
Support plant/operational needs, via attending plant meeting, with supply related issues and address them for quick resolution.
Maintain tracking of savings projects, performance and ensure forecasting is accurate along with all supporting data.
Work with Commodity Leads on supply agreements that require improvements in suppliers’ cost, delivery, quality, order lead time, payment cycles, technology, and / or risk mitigation.
Lead make vs. buy and outsourcing process. Coordinate supplier selection and leads supplier transitions.
Monitors compliance with supplier contractual requirements. Initiate renegotiation efforts well in advance of contract expiration, and monitors industry trends to anticipate opportune timing to lock in contracting advantages.
Support with sourcing both raw material and component commodities and manage a total spend of ~$500M.
Formulate annual business plans for cost reduction and year over year performance improvement.
Oversee group of purchasing personnel and continually assess talent and work to elevate the skills within the team.
Education and/or Experience:
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related degree with a preference for a technical degree. MBA a plus.
Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in procurement, working for a company that has demonstrated “best practices” in supply management

Participation and leadership of cross-functional teams in North America.
Familiarity with Procurement and Quality Supplier Metrics with flow-down to supplier contracts and performance reviews.
Must have an understanding of blueprints and technical specifications.
Strong personal computer skills required, including experience with MS Office software.
Have worked with Lean/Six-Sigma principles and performance improvement tools.
Understanding of ISO/TS 16949 or QS-9000 Quality Specifications.
Willing to travel occasionally and periodically work non-traditional business hours.
