Job Description

We are now accepting resumes for our Mortgage Underwriting Supervisor position.  This role is eligible for remote work and can be located in either The Woodlands, TX, Phoenix, AZ or Greenwood Village, CO.  The ideal candidate for this role will have the skills and experience necessary to fulfill the following job responsibilities and qualifications.

Responsible for creating, maintaining and training on residential mortgage credit guidelines and policies
Final decision maker for all escalated underwriting/credit decisions from all affiliate residential mortgage lending activity
Establish and maintain all underwriting hiring standards
Create, maintain and perform quality reviews on a percentage of all underwriters' decisions and produce monthly scorecards of performance
Liaison with all Auditors on any credit process or decision questions
Liaison with any/all investors on underwriting and credit issues
Liaison with all MI companies
Participate in new product development to support risk parameters for underwriting guidelines
Provide help desk for escalated underwriting guidance for operations and sales partners
Coordinate/collaborate with compliance to drive updates or guideline changes as needed
Represent Enterprise Mortgage Lending group as a subject matter expert throughout the Bancorp when mortgage lending expertise is needed
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field and 4+ years experience in residential mortgage lending underwriting including DE/VA LAPP authority, creating underwriting guidelines, and interacting with investors, auditors, and vendors
A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications
Managerial/supervisory experience preferred
Advanced knowledge of mortgage industry practices and regulatory environment
Must be highly organized with solid interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong problem solving, analysis and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
Superior relationship management skills
Demonstrated experience at a senior credit authority level and ability to analyze risks and balance with opportunity
Working knowledge of change, project and process management methods and tools
Ability to meet deadlines, schedules, and budgeted costs
