Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsible to safely operate commercial truck for delivery of product to customer locations. Responsible for backhaul pick-ups from vendor locations. Required to unload or load product by hand or other means. Perform routine vehicle inspections and operate vehicle in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with DOT/FMSCA regulations. May also be required to move trailers on complex with yard switcher, fuel equipment and wash equipment.

Provide quality customer service at delivery and pick up locations.
Unload or load product by hand or other means. Assist to unload truck/trailers at each delivery location and verify correct products are delivered and obtain delivery confirmation and customer signature.
Must adhere to and understand all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), state and local laws and regulations. Comply with all company safety rules and procedures.
Complete and submit all delivery paperwork to dispatch at the end of tour-of-duty as well as maintain DOT log and other delivery documentation.
Complete pre-post trip vehicle inspections before, during and at the end of the tour-of-duty.
Report all equipment damage, keeping equipment clean and in good operating order, and must report any mechanical defects immediately to dispatch/maintenance.
Safely operate commercial truck on designated route to deliver products as per delivery schedule and for backhaul pick-ups from vendor locations.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently during loading and unloading (average case weight of 18.7 pounds, 83% of cases are less than 30 pounds). Must be able to push and pull loaded pallets and carts weighing up to 2,700 pounds. The employee is required to sit up to eleven hours per day and climb in and out of tractor and trailer often. Overnight travel may be required. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a vehicle environment and is exposed to outside weather conditions frequently, including load/unload in extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment us usually low to moderate, but is occasionally moderate to high.
