Position Overview:

Are you a Data Governance specialist? Would you like to join a team passionate about this space? The Investments and Capital Markets (I&CM) division at Freddie Mac is currently seeking an Information & Technology Risk candidate to join our first line of defense team! The successful candidate will perform data governance and compliance activities as part of the I&CM Information and Technology Risk Governance Team. The role requires attention to detail and well-developed organizational skills. The Senior will work closely with I&CM personnel who are data owners and/or key data consumers. Will also regularly engage with I&CM Business and Technology Office (BTO) personnel in monitoring the compliance with information risk policies, standards, and procedures for the division. The position will report to the Risk Governance Manager for I&CM.

**This position can be performed currently from a remote location in the U.S. but will require presence in a Freddie Mac office in the future.***

Govern information and technology risk and execute data governance in the I&CM division
Evaluate and assess information risk profile for the division
Monitor compliance with Corporate Policies and Standards for the division

Your Impact:

Crafting strategies around data quality, implementation of future state data architecture, metadata and information governance
Creating and maintaining processes and procedures to align with divisional and enterprise standards related to privacy, information security, information classification, records retention, and data governance
Creating and maintaining an accurate and complete inventory of applications, end user controls, models, data stores, LANs, and SharePoint sites
Developing and managing business definitions for critical data
Documenting and managing business metadata
Actively monitoring changes to industry best practices for large financial institutions and identifying needed updates to divisional information risk policies, standards, and procedures
Providing input to reporting on information risk KPIs, KCIs, and KRIs
Partnering with appropriate groups within I&CM, I&CM BTO and Enterprise functions to develop and implement effective strategies related to information risk management and data governance
Developing management reporting related to information risk

Qualifications:

5 - 8 years of information risk and data governance experience within the financial services industry
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Finance, related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience defining and detailing business processes and information flows including metadata and data lineage
Experience creating and maintaining operational policies, standards and procedures related to managing information risk and data governance
Proactive self-starter with good time-management skills and a strong work-ethic
Ability to develop effective relationships across the firm
