As a Quality Manager you will effectively oversee the Quality department while maintaining optimum use and cost of facilities in order to satisfy customer requirements, to address all local and on-line issues and ultimately to achieve sales and profit objectives for the business. The Quality Manager will direct the activities of the Quality department to insure consistent performance of finished products in accordance with the quality and performance requirements of the customer.
Responsibilities
* Ensure that each area of responsibility is maintained in a clean, orderly and safe manner in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding safety, health and environmental protection.
* Manage and direct all Quality associates to ensure that our process produces a product which meets the customers quality requirements.
* Recommend frequency, evaluate and maintain testing techniques, in conjunction with production and technical.
* Manage the testing and adjustment process to yield consistent acceptable quality with consideration for optimal yield cost.
* Minimize variation in testing of powder products through the calibration/verification of test equipment, standardization of procedures, and training of personnel.
* Perform Root Cause/ Failure Analysis to help determine corrective action for out-of-spec and/or defective materials by working closely with technical, manufacturing, field personnel and the customer. Be the contact person for quality problems in the field and plant. Verify incoming raw materials and contact suppliers for non-conformances.
* Conduct analytical testing as directed by technical. Act as a backup to the Quality technicians.
* Maintain and update test methods and work instructions as needed. Manage the document control process for all Quality Management System procedures.
* Manage the Quality Management System to ensure the production facility maintains its ISO, TS16949, and IATF certifications.
* Manage the Correcting Adjustment Incident Reporting (CAIR) system for logging all product related customer complaints and ensure communication of resolution internally and to customer.
Qualifications
* BS Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
* Minimum 5 years of Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
* ISO9001, ISO14001, and/or IATF experience is preferred.
* Quality experience with Powder Coatings is preferred
* Strong computer skills, statistical training, knowledge of problem solving techniques and tools and ability to creatively analyze complex problems, and be able to work with all levels in the organization including internal and external customers.
