We’re actively seeking an experienced Sr. Actuarial & Risk Data Analyst to join our Finance & Actuarial Technology Delivery Team within Retirement Solutions Division in Newport Beach, CA. This role can be on-site or 100% remote.
How you will make an impact:
Manages the data dependencies between policy administration and source systems, modeling platforms, and hedging and valuation processes.
Brings innovative solutions to help solve business process challenges while keeping the solution efficient and consistent across the architecture.
Gathers business requirements, and analyzes and evaluates business needs, requirements, data, processes and systems.
Create specifications and produce supporting artifacts such as flow charts, use cases, and test scripts and any others deemed necessary by the agile team. Facilitate design sessions for projects with Developers, QA and Product Owners.
Lead troubleshooting for production problems and acts as liaison among business areas and technology teams, keeping all parties informed of status, and coordinates problem resolution.
Support major initiatives involving modernization of actuarial platform and technologies.
Represents IT in business meetings, facilitates the development process, and tracks project status.
The experience you will bring:
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in an analytical field, computer science, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of relevant work experience in systems analysis and application development in a Financial Service environment (Annuity and/or Life Insurance preferred)
Experience in the application and data architecture that supports a modern actuarial and modeling function
Strong critical thinking skills and a high degree of intellectual curiosity
Solid teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with technical and non-technical end users
Prior experience with Mainframe development and user interface preferred
Knowledge of cloud data management and infrastructure preferred (AWS, Azure, Snowflake)
Experience with Agile software development preferred
