Job Description

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with other data engineers to design data solutions of limited complexity that support business processes requiring little or no architectural changes to technology 
Collaborate with engineering product manager(s) and peers to satisfy requirements of limited complexity that focus on accurate, available, and accessible data for consumption 
Enhance existing data pipelines and frameworks that will ingest, transform, and distribute numerous data streams and/or batches 
Design and execute effective tests to validate unit and functional components 
 Increase code quality through writing unit, integration, and acceptance tests 
Collaborate with software engineers and teams on code reviews, development infrastructure, and process enhancements 
Estimate time for own application development effort 
Collaborate with other data engineers to design data solutions of limited complexity that support business processes requiring little or no architectural changes to technology 
Develop and maintain thorough technical documentation for features 
Write code using secure programming patterns and by finding, fixing, and enhancing security in existing applications 
Learn and adopt coding standards and generally accepted best practices 
Proactively seek mentorship from other engineers and provide feedback and ideas for improving team- oriented behaviors 
Follow and provide feedback on the engineering lifecycle while abiding by established best practices and collaborating on new topics 
Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements 

Required Qualifications:

 3+years of experience collaborating in a team environment shipping software development and high      school diploma/GED 
Understanding of basic source control systems (ex. GitHub) 
 Experience with streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka, Kinesis, etc.
 Experience working with workflow orchestration or DAG tools such as Airflow,
Experience developing containerized data applications 
Experience working with a team, successfully delivering on a project
Experience with database objects in relational databases (ex. Postgresql, MySql) or non-relational databases (ex. MongoDB, Redis) 
Experience using (or exposure with) languages such as Python, Scala, Java, SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IS, MIS, or other technology degree 
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
Experience creating applications and features in an object-oriented environment (C#, .NET, Java, JavaScript, Python) 
Proficiency developing and deploying applications on Kubernetes 
Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP) 
A learning and growth mindset that is open to giving and receiving feedback 
Values a diverse and inclusive work environment
