Job purpose

The Strategy & Market Intelligence Director is responsible for creating the Emissions Management growth strategy and compiling market research to guide the business through the business and product development journey.

The successful candidate is a major contributor to the mid- to long-term vision and strategy for Emissions Management and collaborates closely with the Product Directors and Commercial teams to implement, execute, and commercialize the Emissions Management strategy. The director will bring a deep technical understanding, combined with the ability to analyze market and other external trends, identify potential partners to enhance the EM offerings.

The role reports into the VP - Emissions Management.

Key responsibilities

Lead the Emissions Management strategy development process for integrated Emissions Management offerings as well as the implementation of the strategy within the business unit (short-term to long-term) in close collaboration with the VP of Emissions Management.
Develop and lead market, customer, and policy analysis, engagement, and strategy to create growth for Emissions Management products, services & businesses.
Develop strategy for existing product & service portfolio as well as new business models for white space, new technologies and emerging areas in close collaboration with the Product and Commercial Directors.
Engage across function, team and business & support new business incubation, M&A/BD due diligence & support identification of potential targets.
Collect, validate, maintain, and update relevant information about markets and competitors. Supply market share data, perspectives on market trends and competitor activities, market forecasts, and pricing information. Provide analyses to support strategic thinking and operational decision making.
Ability to take decision which has direct impact on business results of the higher organizational unit by taking important decisions and/or implies advising the Emissions Management team about their policies. Understanding of broader implications for the entire organization unit is necessary.
Develops a clear vision on the business and the strategy of the business in close interaction with business, product, technology and commercial management. Has the ability to lead the team in complex issues.
Collaborate with the other Emissions Management Product Directors as well as the Sales & Commercial team to integrate technical and commercial solutions into the wider ecosystem and offerings.
Align and manage the long and short-term planning process of the business to underpin organic and potentially inorganic growth.
Demonstrate Baker Hughes values when interacting with customers, employees, and partners.
Promote and own a working environment to achieve excellence in HSE, Compliance, Quality and Customer Service & Productivity.

Success in this role is the successful creation and implementation of the medium to long-term strategy of Emissions Management, and the close collaboration across the Product, Technical and Commercial teams in executing the strategy.

Professional experience & personal characteristics

This role requires someone with a proven track record as a strategic, technical or marketing leader who can define and implement a strategy, operate within a broader ecosystem, and build/grow an area from development to market implementation. Collaborating with a wide range of product managers, sales and commercial as well as technical resources across the company is critical. Further, the ability to create and build customer relationships and the ability to connect solutions across multiple areas are key.
