The Head of Engineering Excellence leads Capital Engineering feasibility studies within the US zone for Growth projects and novel technologies.  This position defines and ensures that Capacity Investments are clearly defined and included in Strategic Plans- Master Plans and AOP- working closely with the International Logistics CoE.  The Head of Engineering Excellence will participate in cross functional FEL Peer Reviews for major Capital projects (>$1MM) within the US zone project portfolio- typical $200MM – $300MM per year across 33 sites and develop and deploy preferred suppliers and standardized infrastructure- production flows and equipment to improve speed of execution on major investment projects across the US zone.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support Feasibilities Studies for major Capex investments for Capacity- Innovation and Cost Improvement and novel technologies- across the US Zone- working closely with S&OP- Supply Chain Development- R&D and FS&Q- with the intention of making more timely decisions.
Provide engineering options and Capex estimates for capacity initiatives working together with GCOE and International Network Design teams.
Support the development of Capex capacity inputs for the International Capital Investment Strategic Plan – a 5 year prioritized investment plan by site (41 sites and $1B to $1.5B investment across the strategic time horizon)- enabling KraftHeinz commercial growth ambitions.
Provide support to Heads of Supply- Site Managers and Package Sponsors in the development Site Master Plans (SMPs) that enable KraftHeinz commercial ambitions through lowest cost manufacturing in a safe environment through optimum quality control and processes. Time Horizon = 5 years
Participate and lead cross functional FEL Peer Reviews to ensure all major Capital projects (>$1MM) within the International Zone are designed to maintain business continuity- maximize operating income and factory efficiency- including the evaluation of: alternative options- cost estimation and realistic timelines together with Sites- Package sponsors- R&D and FS&Q.
Develop Preferred Suppliers to enable Procurement to leverage scale and relationships. Working closely with Capex Procurement- Technical Services- R&D and FS&Q.
Develop & deploy standardized infrastructure- production flows and equipment for Capex projects across the International Zone and champion the process in relation to specific projects to ensure compliance.
Share benchmarking of common equipment or processes and Capital projects across the International Zone.
Identify and evaluate Best Available Technologies and engineering practices- sharing them across the International zone- and globally where appropriate. With the aim of delivering projects in a more consistent and expedient manner.
Provide technical support to project engineers as requested during equipment build- acceptance testing and commissioning

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school or related field is highly preferred
10+ years of industry experience with emphasis on project execution- engineering design- and construction
Exceptional organization- communication- and time management skills. Ability and comfort with routinely communicating with project owners and executive sponsor regarding project/program status.
The ability to document the scope of an enterprise program and coordinate the management of program projects to ensure changes to the scope are properly addressed.
Expert in project management and solution delivery methodologies across multiple organizations and can lead large- complex initiatives across partners and external organizations or vendors.
Practices excellent tactical project and program management skills based on PMI best practices.
Team-oriented approach.
Ability to travel as needed.
