GROUP DESCRIPTION:
Jefferies’ Financial Sponsors Group (“FSG”) offers global coverage of 500+ private equity funds and alternative investment firms. The group is led by a team of 11 senior bankers in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and London with extended coverage in Europe and Asia. The Financial Sponsors Group utilizes its ability to partner across industry and product groups to deliver the firm’s resources in leveraged finance, M&A/advisory, and equity.
POSITION:
The Financial Sponsors Group is actively looking for an experienced Analyst in our New York City office. The role will require extensive interaction with all senior members of the FSG team, all Jefferies investment banking teams, and external private equity clients. As an Analyst on the FSG team, you will gain exposure to all facets of investment banking, across all industry groups and products.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Work with senior bankers to identify and create revenue opportunities, track trends in the marketplace and provide coverage officers with real-time information and updates to share with private equity clients
Maintain and implement proprietary databases used to track sponsor portfolio companies, investment opportunities and fundraising progress for Jefferies’ core financial sponsor clients
Work closely with product and industry groups to actively monitor and track Jefferies and competitor activity
Provide strategic, tailored financial buyers lists for M&A pitches / bake-offs and mandates
Work as deal team analyst to prepare and deliver client presentations on select leveraged finance and M&A transactions. Duties include drafting offering memoranda, confidential information memoranda, management presentations, lender presentations, prospectuses, and other live deal team materials.
Prepare materials and attend sponsor business opportunity meetings and pitches with coverage officers, and provide follow-up client requests
Prepare FSG marketing materials and maintain internal databases
Qualifications
1+ years of investment banking, consulting or relevant experience in the financial services industry
Strong technical, written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to multitask and manage a variety of projects and transactions simultaneously
Resourceful self-starter, able to work autonomously and as a team player
Demonstrate professionalism and client management skills
