Position Description
The Strategy & Operations Program Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies that drive sales and profit growth as well as operational improvements in McKesson’s Consumer Markets business. This highly visible role provides business critical insights to Consumer Markets executive leadership through rigorous business research, analysis and presentation; ensures cross-functional alignment of goals and progress in execution; and leads teams to drive new initiatives and early stage ideas forward from concept through implementation.

Key Responsibilities
Business Strategy Development: Market & Business Analysis

*Apply structured and logical thinking against ambiguous problems to shape discrete workstreams with clear, impactful business outcomes
*Gather, synthesize, and analyze data from external and internal sources to identify and communicate strategic insights that shape and advance key initiatives and programs
*Establish analytical frameworks to evaluate complex business problems
*Scan market environments to understand, document and communicate trends, key players, and other competitive intel to provide ongoing shaping or pressure testing of our Consumer strategy
*Support senior leadership in decision-making by developing, evaluating, and analyzing strategic alternatives and their trade-offs
*Develop and clearly explain quantitative models that convey “as is” and “to be” impact on business results to quantify incremental impact of key initiatives and programs
*Gather and analyze customer needs and internal stakeholder requirements to inform future roadmap for offerings
*Review potential acquisition targets and evaluate business development partnership opportunities to inform resource prioritization
Program Management and Process Improvement

*Design structured project approaches, charters, and governance structures to successfully launch, guide and complete initiatives
*Work with and at times lead cross-functional teams to deliver high impact strategic initiatives, programs, and projects
*Develop and lead work to test new capabilities that informs operational strategies and resource focus in the Consumer business
*Serve as the central point of contact to clearly convey progress, risks, issues and solicit decisions from senior leaders and executive steering committee members in a way that advances initiatives efficiently
*Be highly organized, able to meet task timelines and tactfully hold others accountable to task timelines to realize project benefits
*Tactfully facilitate cross-functional workshops to advance strategic initiatives and programs with large numbers of stakeholders
*Collaborate with teams to develop current and future state operating models that include people, processes and technologies needed
*Manage the customer onboarding process for Consumer business, both internal and customer-facing, to ensure quickest path to revenue
*Develop and gain buy-in on plans to transition finalized solutions from projects to accountable owners for deployment in the on-going operations of the business
*Support Consumer Markets leadership in achieving project objectives
Manage Stakeholders and Ensure Alignment

*Tactfully deliver solutions that meet the needs of the business and executive leadership
*Form strong working relationships and understanding of functions across McKesson to be able to lead cross-functional teams
*Tactfully influence and support mid-to-senior level employees, without direct authority, in the completion of high-quality deliverables within acceptable timeframes
*Prepare and deliver high quality presentations and business cases to executive leadership that clearly communicate all work described above
Minimum Requirements
Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills

*Experience in management consulting, strategy & operations, program management and/or other highly analytical, strategic corporate roles with leading companies
*Experience in eCommerce, online retailing, or related technology services environment
*Experience leading within large PMO, customer delivery, or system integration team
*Strong executive presence with experience presenting and influencing at all levels from c-suite to front line employees
Additional Knowledge & Skills

*Demonstrated ability to take broad, sometimes ambiguous direction and turn it into discrete, actionable workstreams and then leading those workstreams to meet business objectives
*Experience working successfully in a large, matrixed corporate environment preferred
*High level of comfort and enjoyment working with operational data and financials to advance initiatives
*Possess client interfacing / professional services skills and strong communication (listening, oral and written) style that enables direct, independent engagement with senior executives and customers
*Demonstrated capacity to become “expert” in new topics and disciplines quickly; brings a high degree of intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and “self-starter” attitude
*Tireless attention to detail; energized by the pursuit of excellence on every deliverable
*Proven track record of results from the application of process improvement methodologies and effective change management
*Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred but not required
*Knowledge or experience with Six Sigma, Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®), and/or PRINCE2 preferred but not required
*PC Skills: Expertise in Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook)
Education
Four-year degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in a business or technical discipline. MBA preferred

Physical Requirements
Large percent of time performing computer-based work is required.
