The Data Center Capacity Planning manager plays a key role in creating and leading Visa' Data Center white space capacity planning which plays a crucial role in, optimizing the infrastructure that supports Visa's data center environments. In this position, a successful candidate will work closely with engineers on the O&I Infrastructure and Engineering front door teams as well as with DC E & O operations organizations in order to plan data center deployments according to delivery priorities and resource planning priorities. This individual will have exposure to a broad set of technologies and be constantly challenged to create solutions with the latest toolsets. The ideal candidate should have a successful track record of dealing with various aspects of IT infrastructure management and IT equipment deployment planning. A successful candidate must possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, be able to translate business and technical requirements into workable technical solutions, and strive to automate manual processes wherever possible.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Requires BA/BS or equivalent plus 5 or more years related team leadership of operational and/or service delivery experience in an enterprise environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
Provides leadership to multiple teams for the management of the pipeline of deployment of enterprise IT hardware and operating systems.
Develop roadmap for the systematic placement of all IT equipment throughout VISA's Data Centers
Lead in planning best allocation and utilization of space and resources, re-organizing current premises,
Solve technical DC whitespace planning problems, and implement solutions that fulfill the customer's business requirements and needs.
Must understand how a Data Center works from a equipment density/rack & stack POV and a Networking POV
Experience with Network fiber and structured cable design, electrical & HVAC requirements, rack design + build-out, granular equipment elevation diagrams
Excellent leadership and organizational skills and take initiative seeing critical efforts through to completion
Knowledge in the following areas:-Storage |Virtualization |Data Networking |Switching Routing Configuration and Management |Power & Cooling |DC design and capacity planning |DC standards and accreditation
Identify vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities
One of the major requirements of this position will be to interact with multiple internal customer groups across all disciplines (i.e., System engineers, networking, database administration, application development and production support teams, IT governance team) Education and related Business/Technical Knowledge.
You will have exposure to a broad set of technologies and be constantly challenged to create white space planning solutions to optimize utilization of all DC resources.
The ideal candidate should have a successful track record of dealing with various aspects of IT infrastructure management as well as Data Center building management systems to include DCIM software, enterprise monitoring, and ticketing systems.
