Optum Behavioral Care is a rapidly growing business within UnitedHealth Group.Optum Behavioral Care seeks to deliver a high-value and efficient behavioral health system that can be scaled nationally, and the company will grow rapidly over the next 5 years.
The OBC behavioral health system will be built through strategic partnerships with innovative providers and service platforms, many that are new entrants and currently venture-backed.To evaluate partners and develop the care delivery system, in the first two years, OBC has begun implementing this new care delivery model approximately 12 markets nationally, in partnership with our payer and provider counterparts across Optum and UHC.From these initial implementations, OBC will build and scale the premier national behavioral health system for health systems, payers, state programs, and beyond.
Optum Behavioral Care is seeking candidates to serve as

Regional Managerfor a subset of these market implementations.The Regional Manager role is critical to helping scope, plan and execute critical tasks and deliverables which will enable the assigned markets to launch on time and on budget.The Regional Manager will work in close partnership and under the guidance with the Regional VP and COO.

Primary Responsibilities
* Create and execute a structured plan for implementing and scaling the OBC high-value and efficient behavioral health system in multiple regional markets, initially focused on implementing the model in several markets
* Define and scope the Pilot Project Implementation Plan – distinct to individual markets of responsibility – leveraging broader strategy for OBC and Pilots to ensure alignment
* Coordinate day-to-day operation in conjunction with OBC operating team and Optum shared departments to achieve goals and ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the OBC Pilots in designated regional markets
* Effectively manage project implementation timeline and associated resources
* Serve as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders within assigned markets to ensure the timely and effective execution of the market implementation plan
* Manage partners and providers in local markets to maximize financial and operational performance according to OBC key performance indicators
* Prepare materials for critical stakeholder audiences as key milestones / phases of pilot demonstration
* Work effectively with other business and support units across UHG (OBC Product / Clinical, OBH Network, HCE, Etc.).The work of OBC must be deeply integrated with other businesses, initiatives and resources across UHG
* Proactively identify, mitigate and manage risks associated with the pilot demonstrations
* Track overall project KPIs and identify trends related to health care quality, cost and other key clinical processes
* Identify and manage key learnings from these implementations, work closely with OBC Operations team to apply across other markets

Successful candidates for the Regional Manager will have proven experience managing large and complex projects.The successful candidate will have a proven track record of achieving results and effectively managing all aspects of the project

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree
Project Management experience, with demonstrated success of using project management tools (ex. project plans, stakeholder plans)
10 years of experience relevant business experience, preferably in the healthcare industry
5 years of experience leading complex projects of at least $500,000
Experience accomplishing work through others and inspiring others through times of ambiguity
Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills
Exceptional organization and attention to detail
Experience of leveraging data and insights to drive business outcomes, including identifying risks and mitigation tactics
Experience communicating with and influencing thinking of C-Suite executives
Experience with cross-functional, system thinking leadership and execution of complex, organization-wide initiatives. Includes driving functional dependencies outside of immediate control to align to joint objectives
Experience delivering results with large-scale, cross-functional teams in highly matrixed organizations
Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects to ensure their quality and on-time delivery

Colorado Residents Only The salary range for Colorado residents is $94,500 to $171,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
