Job Description

The Technology organization is looking for an experienced Communications analyst who can work with the Office of the CIO and Senior IT Leaders to deliver on our Communication Strategy, and further promote our brand, the mission, and the vision of IT. This is an internal-facing communications role (management, employees, and contractors at Bank of the West) with an emphasis on people in the Information Technology division. Applicants should be excited about developing and implementing plans to engage target audiences, develop and execute tactics, and help spread the messages of the CIO and the Technology organization. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of success in the communications sector or related fields, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Essential Job Functions

Create effective communication strategies for the IT Organization
Execute on the existing Strategy and enhance and update the Strategy for 2021
Create, enhance & execute effective communication plans and strategies for the IT organization
Design and develop multi-platform options for communicating
Interact with multiple sites and offshore vendor
Plan offsite events for IT leaders and help to plan and facilitate content for ad hoc and recurring events like Town Halls, IT Monthly Calls, etc.
Manage inquiries and arrange interviews, statements, etc.
Develop leadership presentations
Build long-term relationships with Senior IT Leaders, product owners, other influencers, and key stakeholders
Identify target audiences and create strategies to effectively engage with them
Collaborate with internal IT and business partners/teams
Serve as a facilitator for communication across the IT groups
Work closely with IT leaders and executives to develop and strengthen employee engagement and volunteerism activities
Report on the status of planned vs actual tactics and themes completed
Develop key performance indicators and the means to measure the reach and effectiveness of our communications
Reviews, and recommends improvement of business plans and operations; this includes assessment of organizational readiness for, and exercise of, operational agility and flexibility.

Required Experience

BA in Communications or other related fields
2-5 years previous experience as a communications specialist or in a similar role
Excellent writing/editing, written/verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
Outstanding organizational, time-management, and presentation skills
Expertise with PowerPoint, along with content development experience necessary to create strategically focused business and presentation materials
Experience with intranet & web-based collaboration platforms/tools (SharePoint, Confluence, etc.)
Experience with graphic/design software (Publisher, Adobe tools, Canva, etc.)
Knowledge of Survey design, production & analysis (post-event participant feedback, etc.)

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Communications or other related fields

Strong willingness and demonstrated ability to work with data, interpret trends, and present findings to project stakeholders
Strong ability balance numerous time-sensitive requests
Ability to exercise independent judgment, creativity, and initiative
Acute attention to detail and ability to produce polished deliverables
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent computer skills including Word, and PowerPoint
Proactive team player, with an ability to influence decision making.
