Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Milliken Rapid Prototype Center is a full service manufacturing facility producing innovative fabrics on a prototype scale for newly identified or prospective markets. The Technician will support all aspects of textile production, to include fabric formation, dye, finishing and auxiliary textile processes. The Technician will work in a team environment and will offer technical service and advice to development and research engineers. Highly motivated applicants will have the opportunity to cross-train in other technologies outside of their prior experience. The Technician may be assigned to an off-shift at times in order to meet increased production demands. Machine specific training will be provided as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Running fabric formation, dye, and finish prototype equipment
Making up mixes for yarn, dye, finish equipment
Tend to minor mechanical opportunities on prototype equipment
Cut fabric to prepare for prototype runs
Perform machine and accessories maintenance, including cleaning
Troubleshoot and repair machine mechanical breakdowns
Document process parameters. Enter prototype data in MDS system.
Assist in other textile prototypes as required.
Other duties as requested by management.
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
Must be able to move around job for 8 hours and have vision correctable to 20/20.
Candidate should have manufactuirng or production experience.
Candidate must be a self-driven and self-managed individual with excellent problem solving, mechanical, math, and communication skills.
