This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience segment and is located in Kokomo, IN.

Summary:

The Embedded Software Engineer will be contributing to the development of Autonomous/ADAS/AD/HAD/Active Safety Projects.

If you have experience in, or a drive to learn technologies such as, Radar, Tracking, ACC, LiDAR, Vehicle Controls, Sensor Fusion, Blind Spot Detection, etc.

Responsibilities:

The software engineer develops software, creates and executes designs for new functionality, or enhances existing functionality for projects such as; Next generation automotive radars, tracking and sensor fusion algorithms, features like ACC, FCW/AEB, Vehicle Controls, Blind Spot Detection, etc.
Engineers develop software in low level code in C/C++.
They also test software using debuggers, emulators and simulators; perform software quality assurance activities; write unit and integration tests and work collaboratively and professionally with other teams within the project.
Experience in AUTOSAR software development or integration projects an advantage.
Knowledge of safety-systems, ISO26262, ASIL A-D an advantage.
Collaborates and adds value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions.
Performs technical root cause analysis and outlines corrective action for given problems.
Serves as a mentor to less experienced software engineers.
Demonstrates mastery of software engineering tools (configuration management systems, build processes, debuggers, emulators, simulators and logic analyzers).
Works in an agile software development environments.                  

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in a Technical Discipline.
2+ years of experience in actual embedded DSP software design and development.
2+ years or experienced on device drivers development, CAN / CAN FD communication, SPI, MCAL..

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)

Multi core/processor system implementation knowledge and experience, including on processors from NXP, TI, Infineon, etc.
Experience on memory management, memory optimizations, performance measurement and tuning.
Demonstrates mastery of software engineering tools (configuration management systems, build processes, debuggers, emulators, simulators and logic analyzers).
Digital Signal Processing experience.
Hardware accelerator experience.
Embedded Development experience in Radar or other perception based systems.
Experience on Ethernet and CAN communication.
Understanding and experience on ISO26262 compliance software design and development.
Embedded OS (Posix or non-Posix) understanding and experience.
ADAS software development experience (5+ years).
