POSITION PURPOSE:
This position will be responsible for triaging and completing service requests related to end user support. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, software and hardware troubleshooting, password resets, operating system reinstalls and upgrades, software installation, phone support, and remote support.
POSITION DUTIES:
• Respond to service requests keeping ticketing system up to date
• User support over the phone, remotely by use of software, and in person
• Application and Hardware Troubleshooting
• Keeping accurate asset inventory
• Microsoft Office and Windows configuration and troubleshooting
• Troubleshooting network printers and multifunction copiers / scanners
• Application troubleshooting
• Transferring and verifying user data during computer upgrades and replacements
• Mobility troubleshooting, device configurations, registration, inventory management, transfers
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Pursuing a degree from an accredited university, degree in technical field/Information Systems/Information Technology preferred. Upper-classman designation, senior level preferred.
• Prior experience in a service desk position preferred
• Flexible problem solving skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize time based on ticket severity
• Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems and Office suites
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Spend 70% of the time in office temperature controlled environment, 30%of the time in shop area.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequent sitting and operation of computer with use of a keyboard, mouse, and terminal screen. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Frequent sitting and operating a PC. Periodic need to move IT related items (eg. Computers, Laptops, Printers, Peripherals, etc.).
