Senior Financial Analyst Merchant Finance, Planning & Analysis Group

Our Marmaxx Finance group has an immediate need for a Senior Financial Analyst in the Merchant Finance Planning & Analysis Group. This person will work on projects that drive and support the Merchandise Planning and Buying organization at TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

Responsibilities:

* Perform Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly reporting with excellent attention to detail
* Analyze Gross Margin and Inventory components to provide guidance on business performance and financial plans
* Provide accurate and timely Ad-hoc analysis to address existing and new business needs
* Deliver strategy and recommendations on various initiatives across all levels of Management
* Present on different analyses related to inventory, gross margin and other conceptual topics
* Partner with operational specialists and build relationships within the business

Potential Projects:

* Merchandising Initiatives evaluate and provide guidance on store inventory levels through managing inventory Freshness, Receipts, and Flow
* Merchant Financial Plans provide spend guidance to Merchant organization based on current business environment, with a focus on liquidity management
* Financial Performance provide detailed financial analysis for special projects/stores of interest
* Strategic Reporting Improvement continually improve existing reporting and files, assist in the transition of existing reports to newer, more dynamic data sources

Qualifications:

* 2+ years of experience working in an Analysis and/or Finance environment
* Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting preferred
* Excellent quantitative and analytical skills; experience reporting on large amounts of data
* Strong communication skills with an ability to acquire information and devise business solutions
* Able to concisely and effectively deliver results to management
* Ability to provide strategic recommendations to the business on key Financial & Merchandise plans
* High level of curiosity to explore, learn and understand business information
* Strong sense of urgency around delivery of reports and deadlines
* Self-starter with high level of time management skills and ability to prioritize individual workload
* Strong technical skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required (i.e. pivot tables, and lookup/reference formulas and charts); experience with manipulating large sets of data
