The Painter maintains a clean and safe environment for all staff, patients and visitors. Daily cleans and disinfects all areas of the hospital. Ensures all trash and soiled linen is picked up twice a day. To give good quality customer service to all patients, staff and visitors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Knowledge of equipment, materials and tools used in the painting trade.

2. Ability to properly apply paints.

3. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

4. Ability to work independently.

5. Ability to use computerized maintenance management system for processing work orders.

6. Following all hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Must be 18 years of age and be able to read and write in English. General knowledge of plumbing, electricity, wall repair and carpentry. Need to have some knowledge on how to run power tools.

EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Texas drivers license

EXPERIENCE: One-year experience. Prefer experience in a healthcare setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.

* Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination.

* The ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds.

* Requires frequent pushing, pulling, kneeling, grasping, stooping, bending & climbing.

* Requires hearing and vision sufficient to perform essential functions.

* Requires sufficient knowledge of the use of chemicals, supplies, tools, and equipment.

* Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.
