Responsibilities
Position is for a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN with experience preferred in sterile technique and general surgery. Candidate would be working with three busy general surgeons in Valley Forge Surgical Associates. Our surgeons are robotic trained and see many conditions including but not limited to hemorrhoids, lipomas, cysts, gallbladder, appendix, cancers of the colon, pancreas, anus, and hernia repair. Candidates responsibilities would include greeting and rooming of patients, vital signs including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, hight and weight. Candidate would also be assisting physicians with in office procedures and conducting patient health history and assisting with any medical questions with direction from physicians and restocking rooms after procedures. Applicant must be friendly, caring, team orientated, and empathetic toward patients needs while assisting physicians. Applicant will also be responsible for setting up rooms for procedures and assisting surgeons using sterile technique and proper PPE. Flexibility and teamwork are essential key assets as candidate will be working both in back with all three physicians and rotating out front with the front desk answering phones and scheduling appointments
The Medical Assistant administers and performs triage and direct care to assigned patients under the direction of physicians. This includes functions such as height/weight and vital signs, updating medical records, as well as assisting the clinicians with exams as requested. Also ensures a smooth flow of patients through the office by providing efficient basic care to patients. Phone triage is also a responsibility of the medical assistants and assuring the physician gets the message and may be responsible for returning phone call to patient if physician requests. The Medical Assistant performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the office running smoothly. The Medical Assistant also performs secretarial support for the office, assistingng the front desk operations in performing general clerical tasks, such as checking patients in and out, filing, copying, answering the phone, collecting copays, obtaining insurance referrals, and related duties as requested by the Practice Manager. The Medical Assistant also is responsible for stocking the patient rooms as well as sterilization of any instruments used while assisting with the physicians.

Education Requirements
* Vocational/Technical Degree or combinations of relevant education & experience may be considered in lieu of Vocational/Technical Degree
* Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
