Job Summary

The Investment Data Quality Analyst (DQA) plays a critical role in maintaining the quality and integrity of a highly complex data environment in our Investments division. This includes data quality monitoring, rule creation, data maintenance, and reporting. As a DQA, you will also conduct data quality root cause analysis on data sets and lead remediation efforts to fix source systems, databases, or data movement procedures. You will also be responsible for profiling new data sets, maintenance of reference data, and working with other analysts to develop and document new rules. You will research and recommend strategic solutions to recurring or thematic challenges. Additionally, you will work with data stewards to coordinate issue resolution, assess data flows, and document information about critical data assets.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

* Build strong working relationships by collaborating across multiple teams, business platforms, and functions to achieve desired solutions for mastered securities and portfolios, common reference data, and operational data hub
* Learn our master data management tool; the foundation for achieving goals related to a key data initiative
* Develop and document data quality rules to ensure data accuracy, validity, reliability, timeliness, relevance, and completeness
* Oversee and troubleshoot processes in our master data management system
* Ensure the right decision support information is available for traders, portfolio managers, and research analysts
* Translate business functional design requirements into technical solutions through the design, development, integration, and testing of master data solutions
* Engage with data stewards to collect and verify business definitions of data and determine context, sourcing, and use of that data
* Ensure there is a consistent standard business glossary and data dictionary for each data subject area
* Be on forefront of helping form the Data Quality practice; with key objectives surrounding the implementation of a new enterprise data management platform in an agile environment

Job Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or Information Systems
* 5+ years of experience in business, systems or data analysis; or as a key business resource on systems projects, in the asset management industry
* An understanding of investment securities or Investment Accounting
* Experience with testing development and execution
* Basic SQL skills
* Understanding of data warehouse structures and concepts
* Familiarity with data governance and/or data management
* Experience with data mapping, data validation, and ETL tools
* Knowledge and passion toward accurate and trustworthy data
* Previous experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, Tableau, Markit EDM and overall market data providers is preferred
* Clear thinker who can seek out and identify key data themes and distill the findings into an actionable strategy and solution
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, to explain the results of data analysis to business and technical users
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, quantify, and effectively raise business risks associated with data quality issues, a sense of urgency and commitment to accuracy, and the ability to handle ambiguity
