Overview
HarperCollins Childrens Books is seeking a talented, energetic social marketer to lead the companys engagement with readers through social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Tiktok, Pinterest and Snapchat. Leveraging content from thousands of books, the successful candidate will identify creative opportunities to broaden engagement with customers across our key brands HarperKids, Shelf Stuff, and Epic Reads. This position will report to the Senior Director of Digital Marketing and manage a direct report. The right candidate is an active user of social media platforms with a natural ability to create meaningful and engaging content.
Responsibilities
* Own the full lifecycle of content and social channels: strategy and planning, content creation, publishing, analytics and community management.
* Collaborate closely with brand marketing teams, authors, and creative/video teams toexecute cohesive campaigns across the organization.
* Manage weekly and monthly content calendars and work cross-functionally to execute.
* Track and report on KPIs on a weekly and monthly basis; make recommendations for improving performance.
* Build creative assets for all social media channels.
* Establish relationships with authors, influencers and bloggers, vloggers, brands, and other members of the online community.
* Educate and evangelize social media best practices within the organization and industry.
* Constantly research and share new trends, platforms and experiences that can inform planning, audience development and drive innovation across the company.
* Assumes all management responsibilities for direct report.
Qualifications
* 3+ years experience creating content, growing, and managing social channels for a brand
* Demonstrated and advanced understanding of Wordpress, EX.CO, photography, videography, Lightroom, and Photoshop editing skills
* Excellent editorial judgment, writing skills, and ability to capture a brands voice
* Demonstrated sense of how to use social content to market and build a brand
* Results-driven, organized, and self-motivated, with strong organizational and time-management skills; excited to work in a fast-paced environment
* Demonstrated Knowledge using social media management and analytical tools (Salesforce, Falcon, Hootsuite, or the like) for listening, scheduling, engaging, and reporting
* A keen eye for copy and editing, and understanding of the role of headline, SEO and visual design in driving traffic and engagement
* Prior management experience a plus
