Overview
HarperCollins Publishers is seeking a Human Resources Manager to provide a high level of HR generalist support to our Corporate and Childrens Books Divisions. The individual will serve as a business partner in identifying and developing business strategies related to employee needs and HR policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to roll up their sleeves to provide hands on support and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position will report into the VP, Human Resources and based out of our New York City Office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic HR team in a creative and rewarding industry!
Responsibilities
* Partner with key divisional leaders to strategize, develop and grow business units; influence senior leaders to shape business outcomes.
* Provide guidance and support to all levels of employees, for all Human Resources related matters including employee relations, performance management and organizational development.
* Ensure compliance regarding all employment laws and union contract.
* Support managers on talent and development plans, identifying key talent both internally and externally to fill vacant and upcoming roles.
* Partner with cross functional HR team members to develop and implement programs related to training, compensation and benefits.
* Manage other departmental initiatives and projects as needed.
Qualifications
* 5 years of experience as a Human Resources generalist
* Proven experience partnering with senior level management
* Proven ability to build trust and influence at all levels of an organization
* Proven understanding of HR practices and principles
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion where necessary
* Exceptional attention to detail
* Self-starter, proactive thinker
* Must be highly organized and able to prioritize
* Demonstrates solid judgment and experience assessing risk relative to the business
* Project management and change management experience
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experienced with employee relations
* Workday and UltiPro HRIS knowledge/experience a plus
* Experience working with complex reporting structures are a plus
* A love of books a plus!
