Job Description
Position Overview
Navistar has openings for Test Technicians at our New State of the Art Test and Validation Center for commercial trucks and buses.
This great opportunity will allow our team members to work alongside engineers to assist as we move into new technologies such as Battery Electric Vehicles, Fuel Cells, and Autonomous (self-driving) trucks.
Core responsibilities:
Support for our vehicle test labs (shaker, hot room, environmental, etc.)
* Installing and setting up tests and rigs
* Assist in conducting the test
* Collect data
* Troubleshooting
* Diagnosing
Basic Requirements
* Associate's degree
* At least 3 years of experience supporting engineering activities
OR
* At least 5 years of experience supporting engineering activities
Additional Requirements
* Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills
* Mechanically inclined
* Experience working with high voltage / electric vehicles preferred
* Ability to read and diagnose data
* Experience with hand tools
* Ability to modify or create wire harness overlays preferred
* Familiar with diesel engines, commercial trucks, buses
