Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Sr Manager Benefits is to administer Team Member benefits in accordance with Company and Plan policies and procedures. As needed, provides special guidance and assistance to all locations on various benefit plans. Supports management's decision making by developing reports to analyze benefit options and predict future costs. As needed, installs approved, new, or modified plans and benefit policies ensuring compliance with governmental regulations, and supervises administration of all new and existing plans. Provides direct over-sight for all benefits related HRIS functions. Develops cost control procedures to assure maximum coverage at the least possible cost to the Company and Team Members. Additionally, this position prepares, coordinates and submits certain legally required annual filings/reports/applications.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resorts policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Administers benefits programs such as retirement plans; basic hospital, medical, surgical, and major medical plans; term life insurance plans; temporary disability programs; and accidental death policies.
* Evaluates and compares existing company benefits with those of other employers by analyzing other plans, surveys, and other sources of information. Plans, develops, and/or participates in area and industry surveys. Analyzes results of surveys and develops specific recommendations for review by management.
* Develops specifications for new plans or modifies existing plans to maintain company's competitive position in labor market, and obtain uniform benefit package for all company locations, where possible.
* Recommends classes of eligible Team Members for new or modified plans. Develops census data and solicits insurance companies for quotations. Evaluates quotations and makes recommendations to management. Develops company cost information for new plans and makes recommendations to management concerning sharing of cost between employer and Team Member.
* Installs approved new plans and changes by preparing announcement material, booklets, and other media for communicating new plans to Team Members. Conducts meetings and arranges for enrollment of Team Members in optional plans. Conducts benefit seminars for local Team Members. Revises and reissues all communications material on benefits from time to time. Advises and counsels management and Team Members on existing benefits.
* Prepares and executes, with legal consultation, benefit documentation such as original and amended plan texts, benefit agreements and insurance policies. Instructs insurance carriers, trustees, and other administrative agencies outside the company to effect changes in benefit program. Ensures prompt and accurate compliance.
* Assures company compliance with provisions of Employee Retirement Income Security Act. Preparation of reports, applications, filings required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, insurance commissioners, and other regulatory agencies (e.g. ACA reporting, compliance testing etc.). Reviews and analyzes changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits, and reports necessary or suggested changes to management. Coordinates company benefits, with government sponsored programs.
* Assures that existing and new benefit programs are adaptable to standardized computer and reporting systems. Develops benefit information and statistical and census data for actuaries, insurance carriers, and management.
* Manage maintenance and accuracy of employee data for analysis, regulatory compliance, reporting and distribution. Includes coordination of interfaces into HRIS system with IT and vendors, design templates and implement imports and exports from/to files.
* Develops and documents standard operating procedures aligned with business requirements, develops training and roll out to Benefits team and end users to ensure consistency and data integrity.
* Handles benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution. Maintains contact in person, and by phone or mail, with hospitals, physicians, insurance companies, employees, and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees.
* Assists HR leadership with special projects, reporting, etc.
* Safety is an essential function of this job.
* Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Company Standards of Conduct:

All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Companys standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Minimum Qualifications:

* 21 years of age.
* Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
* Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
* 5+ years of experience benefits administration experience required.
* Demonstrated a minimum of 5 years experience with management over-sight of health and welfare plans, short and long term disability coverage, and life insurance.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Infinium/AS400.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
* Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

* Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
* Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
* Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
* Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
* Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
* Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
