Your Role and Responsibilities
At IBM we not only support most of enterprise production workloads, structured enterprise data and enterprise transactions. We build tools that help others build and understand software for those enterprises. We are on an exciting journey to transform the developer experience on IBM Z by embracing disruptive technologies spanning all aspects of development, test and monitoring.
Job Duties:
We are seeking a developer to join our highly focused, self-managed Agile team who is motivated to embark on creating a new Enterprise DevOps platform tools. You will be helping to build source code understanding, intelligent DevOps monitoring and management tooling for end to end cloud native environment for Enterprise clients. Please join us if you like to be involved in small team that shares all aspects of creating software product, where you know the big picture, while you focus on what you do best but be involved in designing and developing the overall solution.
About the Team:
We are a small team working on strategic technology. We share responsibilities of all aspect of the software development and software delivery process. You will working with passionate group of people dedicated to helping each other to succeed and deliver best possible solutions.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* 2+ years of experience working with all phases of software development including design, coding, unit testing and functional testing
* Proficiency in at least 3 major programming languages, automated unit and function testing
* Experience in Object Oriented design, MVC, API development
* Experience working in z Linux and Windows
* Experience working with the databases (for example Db2) and SQL
* Web application development knowledge
* Familiarity with Open Source concepts and standards
* Knowledge of machine learning methodologies and cognitive solutions
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
* Experience working in z/OS, COBOL and PL/I
* Experience in Agile software development methodologies
* SCMs, Git/GitHub
* Knowledge about building containerized services with Docker, Kubernetes
* Knowledge and/or experience in Red Hat OpenShift and IBM Cloud
* Advanced knowledge and experience in machine learning methodologies and cognitive solutions
