Summary:

The Enterprise Data organization drives value for Hershey by providing high-quality, well governed data to the Enterprise for analytics and decision-making.

The leader within Data Governance will be responsible for deploying and enforcing policies and procedures that ensure data is used and maintained properly. These policies and procedures are routinely communicated cross-functionally, promoting efficient, accurate records and effective information management. In addition, the incumbent will be an active member of a governing body/council, ensuring the technical platforms are complimenting the documented and governed procedures. The evolving governance model will require the leader to be collaborative and decisive with stakeholders and technical teams to ensure solutions are staying current with modern data trends and scaling with the Hershey Strategy.

Enterprise Data Strategy:

Lead the Data Governance function, creating the strategic roadmap and delivering the project portfolio in partnership with global master data teams and architecture

Data Governance Domain:

Collaborate with and business partners to identify, prioritize and address data governance across the enterprise

Mentoring and Coaching:

Manage the ITIS data governance team, ensuring success through formal and informal technical education and development. Participate as a technical leader in a community of practice for our solution, security, and data architects across IS and the Business with the goal to improve the collaboration across the community, provide development opportunities for our solution architects, and create a community voice with regard to architecture & technology innovation

Specific Job Responsibilities:

* Lead and facilitate data governance activities of the organization including but not limited to creating data governance and privacy policies specifying contract implementation
* Lead the technical implementation of a multi-domain Master Data Management (MDM) platform(s) that supports Hersheys strategy for digital transformation and focus on the consumer
* Lead the organization through the procurement of MDM solutions, leveraging prior knowledge and Hershey requirements to choose the best solution
* Partner with business leadership within the master data and business domains to build and implement the policy and process for the governance model
* Leverage a technical understanding of the enterprise data catalog to build end user adoption, through delivering visibility, integrity and quality of Hershey data assets
* Work with business partners to deliver quality visualizations based on business rules and strategy
* Lead the accountability procedures governing data access, quality, processing, storage, retention, reporting and auditing measuring contract and regulatory compliance
* Partner with the Hershey Data Privacy team to identify, build and deploy technical and non-technical vulnerabilities to our data
* Establish the compliance testing and remediation processes to data privacy at the enterprise level
* Work closely with the business stakeholders to aid in the development of a data stewardship program, establishing metadata registry responsibilities
* Maintain and grow a system/data catalog, a data lineage map, and a business glossary
* Champion data literacy, creating, implementing and managing educational programs to deliver a data-driven culture by upskilling the organization on our self-service toolsets, Hersheys data assets and how to leverage data to drive business outcomes.
* Work alongside the ERP implementation team for the data migration of Hershey data to new SAP S/4 platform
* Collaborate with Data Architects and Data Engineering Ops to define data warehouse architecture, platform and applications
* Lead the implementation of metadata standards, data governance and stewardship, master data management and data management
* Establishing and leading Enterprise Data and Technology governing bodies/councils and supporting business data governance leaders and forums.
* Deploying, monitoring and enforcing policies/procedures that ensure data is used and maintained properly within Enterprise Data and Technology as well as the broader organization.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

* Bachelors in a STEM degree, specifically Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems
* Masters degree and/or related equivalent experience preferred
* Certified in project management methodologies (agile, waterfall)
* Cloud certifications in data architecture or data development (Azure, Google Cloud or Amazon Web Services)

Experience:

* 13+ years of progressive experience working with data, five to seven of which has been focused in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide data management programs
* 10+ years of experience designing end-to-end data governance within an enterprise environment using industry standard guiding principles and practices
* 6+ years of experience with MDM/PIM (e.g. Stibo, Tibco, Informatica, etc) and data catalogs (e.g Alation, Informatica, Collibra, etc)
* 6+ years with integrating data governance tools with ERP solutions; SAP preferred
* 6+ years of demonstrated experience in data migration and data profiling for large ERP implementations (SAP ECC, SAP S/4)
* 6+ years of experience in a hybrid leadership role; leading strategy and making critical decisions, while being able to execute against low-level deliverables of a project
* Successfully led 2+ technical implementations of either an MDM/PIM or data catalog solution
* Experience working cross-functionally at varying degrees of leadership in the business to build adoption and influence stakeholders for driving data governance in the organization
* Experience in data architecture within an enterprise environment using industry standard guiding principles and practices
* Demonstrated data literacy/change management experience understanding and communicating business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts. The ability to translate among the languages used by executive, business, IT stakeholders
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and non-technical partners
* Experience with COBIT/SOX, as well as PII data in accordance with relevant laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
