POSITION SUMMARY:
This role will provide HR partnership and leadership to assigned client groups through the development and implementation of HR initiatives focused on achieving business objectives. This position is both hands-on with an eye toward strategic impact and planning. You will leverage your expertise in the areas of HR such as change management, coaching/development of leaders, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, conflict management, and more.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as primary contact for employees and managers in assigned client group. Build a strong business relationship with the internal clients and stakeholders. Develop a strong understanding of the business. Proactively support the delivery of HR initiatives and processes.
Identify opportunities for HR strategic influence within client groups and set objectives in partnership with leaders accordingly
Effectively drive leadership development, management/employee coaching, and performance management
Collaborate with Cepheids HR community to identify needs and implement creative and effective solutions to positively impact the organization
Drive associate engagement, organizational and talent assessments and execute best practices for retention and performance management and leadership
Drive change management initiatives as well as anticipating the need for change and influencing before a crisis or inflection point arrives.
Provide guidance on, and help conduct, the investigation of complex complaints and concerns that could result in legal ramifications or organization exposure; assess the severity, involve appropriate individuals and facilitate appropriate action based on established practice.
Resolve employee relations issues through a systematic approach with clear documentation and follow through
Partner with Compensation on making recommendations for assigned groups on job creation/leveling for roles, review of relevant market data and subsequent communications/recommendations
Partner with Staffing to provide strategic staffing and recruitment consultation. May assist in identifying, interviewing and selecting qualified candidates for senior/critical positions
Consult on proposed promotions and help drive the annual focal review process.
Lead the development, rollout, and facilitation of employee training where needed
Actively identify areas for improvement (culturally, organizationally, process) and implement appropriate changes
TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience (in years):
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience
A minimum of 8 years of experience in a HR Business Partner role, with broad experience in management coaching, employee relations, recruiting, compensation, training, HR project management, and program implementation
Knowledge and skills:
Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, statutes, etc., which govern employment policies and practices and standards.
Thorough understanding and application of internal and external HR Principles, concepts, practices, and standards
Excellent planning and organization skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment
Experience in team building and team development
Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization
Experience developing corporate wide programs and initiatives supporting diverse business needs
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; must be articulate and persuasive communicator
Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
Working knowledge of MS Office
Experience working with an HR database
Strong business acumen
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
10 years experience in a HR Business Partner role
PHR or SPHR certification
Experience working with globally diverse teams
