Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Facilities Maintenance Technician

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working independently and cross-functionally, this position is responsible for in-house maintenance and repairs, issuing purchase requisitions for maintenance & supplies, coordinating janitorial services, and contracting for building repairs. Compliance and sustainability will also be the responsibility of this position. The desired applicant will take initiative and seek out creative solutions for each issue.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Monitors and expedites the maintenance work order program.

2. Coordinates the collection and disposal of hazardous waste materials

3. Conducts safety inspections of office, building and line equipment

4. Installs plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems

5. Work with outside vendors as required, including regular vetting for optimal value

6. Provides information or assistance to management for operations decision making

7. Responsible for maintaining high quality standards

8. Communicate and work with employees at all levels or departments within the Fremont location

9. Performs other facilities related duties as required

10. Perform preventive and unscheduled maintenance on building and production equipment

11. Manage inventory and proper storage of all chemicals used for wafer fab manufacturing

12. Monitor and maintain wastewater treatment system in compliance with local agency

requirements

13. Maintain legible and accurate documentation on hard and soft copy forms of manufacturing

related data, regulatory, and non-regulatory information

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be willing to take ownership and responsibility for resolving issues.

2. Prior experience with technical problem solving of moderate scope and complexity.

3. Exercises judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate actions.

4. Minimum 4 years experience in a technician role

5. Requires a general knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in electrical, mechanical, and HVAC trades

6. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, and system drawings

7. Knowledge of national and local electrical, building, mechanical and plumbing codes.

8. Personal Computer skills including the ability to use Microsoft Office programs (word, excel, access) and experience with other software systems.

9. Minimum 2 years experience working with hazardous materials, chemicals, and gases, and wastewater treatment.

10. OSHA and/or related certifications a plus.
