The Role: Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment thats more startup than big company. Well tackle problems that span a variety of domains: computer vision, image recognition, machine learning, real-time and distributed systems.
You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity thats higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems that, frankly, havent been solved at scale before - anywhere. You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and given the size of this initiative, youll have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon in different locations. Job Responsibilities
Work with engineering, research and product management to translate business requirements into technical/functional specifications.
Build project plans, balancing business needs with project risks and resource availability.
Drive engineering project execution, make technical tradeoffs, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues.
Coordinate cross-team efforts spanning research algorithms and dozens of services.
Assist with recruiting, hiring process, and growing the team.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline.
10-15 years of experience the software or hardware industry, taking a product through its complete lifecycle.
Track record of successfully delivering projects on time, to scope, with high quality.
Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines.
Maturity, judgment, and proven ability to lead and influence others.
Independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with developers, business owners, and senior business leaders.
High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience driving multiple products through a complete lifecycle
High Scale services experience in an online retail environment
Experience working with research, hardware, and software teams
