Have you always thought about becoming a Retail field Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO), but never had the right opportunity and/or was it financially too risky to make a change? Through our national Mortgage Loan Officer Development Program, a limited number of high potential candidates, with little to no mortgage experience, will have an opportunity to transition into a new career as a MLO. We assemble a new class of 8 future MLOs every few months within our Citizens Retail Branch footprint markets. We are looking for future top performers in this industry who have the skills, aptitude and drive to succeed.
Class G of MLO Development Program will launch May 24th, 2021.All internal Citizens colleagues will start 1 week prior to program launch May 17th, 2021. This is NOT a work at home position and once restrictions are lifted, the expectations are that MLOs to be training and working out of their designated Mortgage office and assigned Branch locations.
With the support of a dedicated Development Program Sales Manager, Learning Consultant, MLO Peer Partners and your future Producing Sales Manager, you will spend your first 4 months completing our comprehensive training plan. This includes varies live interactive video team meetings, pre-defined training courses, self-paced learnings, daily homework assignments, Peer Partner MLO shadowing, 1:1 meetings with future aligned Producing Sales Managers, live mortgage referrals and much more. Each day and week is thoughtfully planned out to ensure highest level of training is delivered.
We are looking for driven, highly coachable and disciplined candidates with a successful track record in a sales role. A motivated self-starter attitude with strong communication and basic mathematical skills are a must. Experience in Retail Banking or financial service preferred. Ability to establish and maintain referral partners such as Realtors is a critical element to future success.
Upon completion of the 4 month training program, you will transition to a full-time Mortgage Loan Officer position in our Retail in-field mortgage channel. Citizens Bank is honored to be a top Lender in the Mortgage sector and is focused on growing our market share in the states we currently operate. Mortgage Loan Officers proactively identify, develop and maintain a quality network of business relationships that serves as a source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities. Those that are in located in a Citizens Retail Branch footprint market will also be aligned to 1-2 Citizens Bank Retail Branches for customer referral opportunities. However, external relationships are the cornerstone of generating new business and may consist of realtors, builders, professional and personal contacts. Our Loan Officers are encouraged to participate in business related development opportunities, community efforts to promote home ownership and professional organizations. You will be responsible for interviewing new and existing customers to determine their loan needs and advising those customers of appropriate products, terms, and pricing, while gather any additional required information. It will be necessary to generate complete mortgage applications, ensuring appropriate procedures and policies are followed, while meeting sales goals and objectives.

Qualifications
* 2 years of direct sales experience, preferably in banking / financial services
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, across a variety of audiences
* Ability to establish relationships with local referral networks
* Strong computer skills and experience utilizing laptop technology
* Successful candidate must meet and comply with all requirements set forth in the SAFE Act, including, but not limited to successful completion of the required background checks and obtaining a Unique Identifier from the NMLS.
* Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials
* BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in sales
