Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 1 to join our team. This leadership role will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force rsquo;s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do:

The Systems Engineering Manager will be responsible for providing technical and agile program leadership for developing the enabler runway plan for major program milestone events working with Digital Engineering Systems Team and digital engineering liaison reporting to the Director of Systems Engineering Control. Bringing together stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, and quality team members on determining the use cases, requirements, interfaces, and workflows required to develop digital threads for deployment. The candidate will be the first point of contact for overarching JIRA roadmap plans aligning to integrated product teams to resolve roadblocks and escalate to directorate for resources required for resolution and support.

The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. They will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Essential Functions:

* Lead an initiative to deploy agile methodology through the technical execution noted above for efficient collaboration
* Demonstrated success in leading teams to integrate agile best practices, while promoting self-organization and autonomy
* Cultivate a team culture/environment of continuous learning
* Demonstrated understanding of agile methods and the ability to teach the specific roles, work products, and activities to team members and stakeholders.
* Increases team knowledge of Agile/Lean topics helping them understand ldquo;why rdquo; practices work not just ldquo;how rdquo;.
* Actively seeks mentoring and collaboration from more experienced SMEs amp; coaches on Lean-Agile techniques
* Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
* Use good judgement to pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
* Work closely with program-assigned systems engineering, digital engineering systems, configuration management, and program integration management professionals to ensure that the systems lifecycle is accomplished with high quality and efficiency
* Oversee and manage the quality and timeliness of the organization rsquo;s products, and identification and remediation of potential issues before they become problems

These positions will have a standard work schedule of 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor rsquo;s Degree in a STEM-related field of study with 5 years of related engineering and agile experience.
* Active Secret security clearance.
* 2 years of experience being on multiple Agile teams at different stages of agile deployment
* 1 year of experience with creating Agile projects in Jira and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications:

* Exceptional leadership skills in order to coordinate collaboration across engineering, manufacturing and quality teams
* Proven track record in deploying Agile tools across multiple projects, collaborating with leadership to understand the strategic vision and establishing the roadmap to success
* Proven interaction in a distributed team environment
* Strong background in engineering design, testing, troubleshooting, and the process of the engineering review board
* Comfortable working in a collaborative environment
