This position administers nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited Psychiatric Technician program required

Credentials: Current Licensure as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician with the State of California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians

Experience: Clinical experience in a psychiatric setting preferred

Knowledge/Skills:

* Interacts positively with patients on a daily basis.
* Capable of adapting to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis.
* Works successfully under highly stressful conditions.
* Makes sound, independent judgments based on Scientific and/or Ethical principles.
* Collaborates with other multidisciplinary team members in an appropriate fashion.
* Utilizes effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills, written and verbal.
* Utilizes math skills to calculate medication dosages.
