Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Sr. Principal Virtual Simulation Lab Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining smooth operation of classified, multi-user computer systems, system administration, maintaining lab infrastructure, and supporting security procedures. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
Essential Functions:
* Interact with users to determine hardware/software requirements
* Installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems, and COTS
* Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
* Ancillary duties will include but are not limited to:
* Evaluation of vendor products, providing recommendations to purchase hardware and software
* Providing backup recovery
* Maintaining system documentation
* Tuning system performance
* Building of systems and computing asset management
* Limited electrical tasks such as testing for connectivity on a circuit board
* Working in STIG configuration, classified processing and security procedures
* Install, harden, and maintain computers in a Risk Management Framework (RMF) environments
* Interact with and successfully utilize boards of approval to maintain required security controls and configuration management
* Act as the focal point with Cyber Security for all lab related processes and procedures

Qualification
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor rsquo;s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 9 years of relevant experience OR Master rsquo;s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 7 years of relevant experience OR A PhD in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 4 years of relevant experience
* Demonstrated experience with systems administration of Windows and Linux workstations and servers
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Security+ certification
* Active, in-scope DoD Top Secret security clearance with issue or reinvestigation in the last 5 years
* The ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet business objectives
Preferred Qualifications:
* Familiarity with NAS and SAN technologies (NetAPP, SAN, EMC, SAN, HP NAS)
* Basic electrical hardware experience (such as making sure the electrical connection has ground, testing the pins on a circuit board, understanding video outputs, etc.)
* Risk Management Framework knowledge and/or demonstrated experience
* Knowledge of Nessus, Splunk, SCAP, POA amp;Ms, system audits, vulnerability scanning, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) system security package development
