Job Title: Mail Clerk

Job Summary:

Receives, sorts and distributes incoming postal and inter-office mail; collects, prepares outgoing mail by wrapping packages, computing and applying postage, completing required post office forms, and logging required data such as registered and classified mail. Re-addresses misdirected mail; runs errands; maintains employee rosters and location lists; and maintain the postage machine. Responsible to fill in front desk receptionist responsibilities as backup, as required. Requires vehicle operation to pick up and deliver mail at other nearby Hillenbrand buildings or post office, and monthly inspection of vehicle. This is a key support position to the administrative staff at all sites..

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Receive, sort, and distribute incoming postal and inter-office mail
* Sign for all incoming packages upon arrival
* Fill in receptionist/front desk duties occasionally as required
* Log, update, and report data as directed on spreadsheets and forms
* Look up and redirect misaddressed mail
* Perform special delivery runs and scheduled courier runs to other Hillenbrand buildings and locations, USPS, and FedEx
* Deliver and pickup classified mailings when applicable
* Operate mailroom equipment when necessary in a safe manner
* Order and distribute office supplies
* Perform other duties as assigned and participate in weekly staff meetings
* Deliver mail to post office at end of each day
* Complete month end for postage machine

Qualifications:

* High School Diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education
* Additional specialized training in specific aspects of job functions and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks and 3 years of experience
* Valid Driver's License and good driving record
* English; written and spoken for interface with client personnel
* MS Office Suite (including but not limited to Excel and Word) and Outlook
* Basic proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Search, CMMS
