Location: Palo Alto, CA

Purpose and Objective:

Sybase, Inc. seeks a Developer at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for developing an automated testing and validation framework for enterprise infrastructure.

Expectations and Tasks:

Responsible for development of a scalable monitoring and logging framework. Responsible for ensuring that HANA Infrastructure is configured correctly for cloud lines of business. Coach and train the HANA operations team to handle L1 and L2 HANA Infrastructure Issues. Remove impediments to the Development and Build Teams progress. Continuously refine deployment processes and provide optimizations to the Development Team. Analyze and solve issues in existing and new code, both in staging and production. Demonstrate full responsibility for accepted tasks and demonstrate a high level of quality, speed, reliability and efficiency. Work closely together with other team members and teams to ensure SAPs success. Enhance skills beyond own core functional focus and work on other tasks for the benefit of the team. Demonstrate overall product knowledge and share domain expertise within and across teams. 10% travel required.

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study and 5 years of experience required. The company will also accept a Master's degree and 2 years of experience. Will accept pre-bachelors degree experience.

Work Experience:

Experience must include 2 years with the following: Software-defined networking including ansible automation; Arista EOS; Database/SQL, including SAP HANA; Expert level Linux specializing in Enterprise OS with SLES, RHEL; Software-defined storage including management of NetApp Technologies and GPFS; Python development and automation contributing to both in-house technologies and open-source including Openstack; Designing, implementing, and executing test plans that include unit, functional, regression, system and integration tests; QA testing/methodology across C, C++, C, Java, and Python; GCP automation including deployment and management; SAP HANA Lifecycle Management and Operations; Bare Metal Server management including Ironic, Neutron and Glance; Cloud architecture specializing in GCP, Azure and AWS; Containerization with Docker; Deployment of containers utilizing Kubernetes and Helm; Production system monitoring with influxdb and Grafana. 10% travel required.
