Kapton Manufacturing Production First Line Supervisor

Job Description

The Kapton00AE film manufacturing business is seeking a shift-based First Line Supervisor at the Circleville, Ohio site. Circleville is one of three primary manufacturing locations for the production of Kapton00AE polyimide film produced within Interconnect Solutions business unit of DuPont. This business unit is part of DuPont2019s Electronics and Imaging Platform.

The Circleville site is located approximately 30 miles south of Columbus, OH, a growing city that is currently the 14th largest in the nation. This position works a 12-hour rotating 24/7 shift schedule (ABCD schedule) and supervises a staff of production employees in Kapton00AE manufacturing. The supervisor is responsible for the following: adherence to safety policies and procedures; maintaining standards in the areas of housekeeping, safety, attendance, operational discipline, process safety management and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance; communicating expectations with operational accountability; responding to personnel, operational, safety and environmental incidents; and ensuring work is completed in accordance with production schedules.

Minimum qualifications:

* High School Diploma or GED
* 3 years of manufacturing plant experience
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; must build relationships and trust with operators and mechanics
* Demonstrated skill in team building and achieving results
* Ability to interact, coach and provide guidance to colleagues at all levels
* Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision
* Experience with Microsoft Office, SAP, and other shop floor systems

Preferred qualifications:

* Kapton00AE manufacturing experience or working with PSM critical processes/systems
* Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification (can be acquired while in role)
* Operations scheduling and planning experience
* Familiar with commissioning and first start-up of equipment
* Prior supervisory experience, either in a permanent or detail role

Responsibilities:

* Investigate incidents and injuries and prepare reports of findings
* Set expectations and hold people accountable for Core Value compliance (EHS, Protect the Planet, Highest Ethical Behavior & Respect for People) and model the appropriate behavior
* Provides leadership on day-to-day operations, including ensuring appropriate staffing through overtime
* Assign resources to highest priority needs, including operations and shift maintenance
* Ensure adequate ERT staffing and serve as emergency shift team leader
* Collaboration with maintenance and technical to meet daily challenges
* Work with Operations to improve safety, yield, and uptime. Maintain production quality and respond to issues
* Communication of process variations and incidents to area managers, maintenance coordinators and mechanics
