Position Summary
There are approximately 525 employees on our Finance team located in the U.S. who proactively and jointly participate in the business decisions of Duke Energy. Our departments include:
* Controller (i.e., Accounting)
* Corporate Development and Treasury
* Financial Planning & Analysis
* Investor Relations
* Risk Management and Insurance
The Associate position is an entry-level rotational position. The successful candidate(s) will rotate through one-year assignments for a total of three (3) years prior to a permanent assignment within the Finance organization. Initial assignments will be within the Controller or Financial Planning & Analysis. Subsequent rotations may include experiences in different roles in these same departments or in the Risk Management, Corporate Development and Treasury, Investor Relations or Internal Audit departments, depending on the companys business needs.
Responsibilities
The Accounting & Finance Associate Rotation Program provides exposure to a variety of roles, facilitating learning foundational concepts in the energy industry and in business, in order to develop broad skills and allow the employee to evaluate their career options.

Basic/Required Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (with a concentration in Accounting or Finance) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75, OR actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (with concentration in Accounting or Finance) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and successful completion by August 2021
* Experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g., Office 365, Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook)
Desired Qualifications
* A maximum of two (2) years of work experience in Business, Accounting or Finance
* Previous energy industry experience
* Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (with a concentration in Accounting or Finance) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25, OR actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (with concentration in Accounting or Finance) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and successful completion by August 2021
* Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25, OR actively pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and successful completion expected by August 2021
* Demonstrated effective leadership skills through on-campus, extracurricular/volunteer activities, etc.
* Demonstrated effective interpersonal and teamwork skills
* Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills

This segment has 21 wind and 100 solar facilities and 1 battery storage facility with a capacity of 2,991 MW across 19 states.
