User Experience Designer II Identity

Do you want to use your craft of interaction design and information architecture to help make traveling easier? Do you love making complicated experiences simple, boring experiences exciting, and interesting experiences amazing? Are you ready to help people go places? As a UX Designer in the Platform & Marketplaces eCommerce Identity team, you'll be working in highly collaborative, fast-paced, high energy environment. Our team runs customer identity management systems for Expedia Group. This is an ongoing effort that envisions hands-on design thinking from UX well into the future. We are building a platform for user authentication and profile management based on customer interaction patterns, emerging industry standards and human-centered design standards. We are envisioning Identity beyond an old school email and password entry experience You will co-create useful, compelling, and cohesive experiences rooted in the principles of simplicity, consistency, and delight.

Youre perfect for this role if your skillset blends UX research, interaction design, and storytelling. Youre passionate about using data and analytics to identify user needs to find the right solution to meet those needs across a variety of form factors. You love competitive analysis and testing and live to bring together those insights into a cohesive solution. You lean on established standards but also love to experiment and move quickly. You understand design thinking and advocate for solutions that balance the needs of customers with business objectives.

What youll do:

* Perform competitive analysis and balance this with (others) user research, to advise and validate your work

* Communicate your findings, and recommendations to UX and product team members

* Partner with fellow UX design, engineering, and product managers to conceptualize

* Identity flows and experiences

* Use logic, hard data, and empathy to advocate for the user

* Present and describe your methods, explorations, and rationale along with a recommendation

* Use a design system to build and maintain product consistency

* Collaborate with Content Strategy and provide reference copy

* Iterate and improve by learning, growing and educating

* Advocate for UX consistency and standards within your immediate team and in the organization at large

Who you are:

* Bachelors or Masters degree, or 2 to 5 years of related professional experience

* Strong in 1 core skill, capable in 2 others: Interaction/visual design, Information architecture, User research, Prototyping, Technical/Platform knowledge, UX writing, Motion design

* At least 2 years of professional experience with UX design with a preferred focus on interaction design and flows for large enterprise web sites or applications

* Knowledge of mobile-first design strategy and approaches

* Able to handle complexity of situations when problem-solving
