The Conversational Shopping team, part of Marketplaces and Yield, is seeking a talented and highly motivated Software Development Engineer to deliver rich user experiences for the Vacation Rental Inquiry bot on the web, Android app, and iOS app. Our goal is to enable travelers in the shopping journey to easily and naturally express their intent and preferences, and provide personalized and relevant search results and recommendations. You'll be responsible for delivery of initiatives, maintaining high coding standards, solving challenging problems, and jump into new projects.
What you'll do:
* Own and deliver code that set and raise the bar on quality, operability, and scalability
* Actively participate in code and design reviews
* Collaborate effectively with product managers, architects, and other engineers to co-develop and solve problems in an agile environment
* Work with cross-functional teams to research and resolve production issues
* Mentor other engineers on the team
Who you are:
* 5+ years of experience in software engineering in a team environment
* Bachelor's degree or Masters in Computer Science a related major; or equivalent professional experience
* A quick learner who is always seeking new ways to improve and optimize their technical solutions
* Problem solver and experienced building, testing, deploying and monitoring web applications in the cloud
* Championed code quality, automated testing, design reviews, and other engineering practices
* Flexible working on and understanding front-end frameworks and back-end services
* Experienced with technologies like Node.js, React, Java, Kotlin, GraphQL, etc.
