Job Summary
Manage, supervise, and delegate tasks to assigned employees performing troubleshooting and repair of roadway equipment. Manage Mechanics safety, quality, and timely performance during daily operations.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
* Execute the safety plan outlined by the Engineering Department to promote and provide a safe working environment as a safety leader.
* Ensure adherence to CSX and departmental policies and procedures. Assure proper use of tools, equipment, and assets.
* Supervise the mechanics safety, productivity and quality repair of equipment to support field operations ontime and on budget through effective planning and execution.
* Complete required documents and reports. (Payroll, Scotia, Expense, EAM, CMV, ECT.)
* Assist leadership in achieving Engineering Department and Work Equipment goals. Participate in developing plans and processes, which minimize cost through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials. Oversee budgets and parts inventory.
* Ensure compliance with Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and CSX rules and regulations.
* Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications
* High School Diploma/GED
* 3 or more years of experience in 3 or more years of experience in Heavy Equipment Maintenance
* 1 or more years of supervisory experience in 1 or more years of supervisory experience in Equipment Maintenance required
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor%27s Degree/4-year Degree
* 3 or more years of experience in 3 or more years of experience in Heavy Equipment Maintenance
* 3 or more years of supervisory experience in 3 or more years of supervisory experience in Equipment Maintenance
Knowledge and Skills
* Knowledge of labor agreements applicable to Mechanics
* Knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) rules and regulations as they apply to Work Equipment
* Knowledge of repair of railroad roadway equipment/machinery
* Ability to demonstrate coaching skills to effectively lead a diverse group of people
* Inventory management skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

* Different shifts as assigned in a 24 hour/7 days a week operation (incl working weekends)
