Prepares and stains specimens of human body tissue so all structure detail or substance will be visible for evaluation by Pathologist, under general supervisions and according to established policies, procedures and standards. Prepares solutions, performs special mountings and stains and performs related service duties. High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of a histology program. Knowledge of chemical reagents, solutions and equipment operation and maintenance, and ability to perform histology procedures. One to three months work experience necessary to acquire familiarity with hospital and departmental policies and procedures and gain a complete understanding of various histology procedures.
