Assists licensed nursing staff with direct patient care, including vital signs, hygiene activities, physical activity requirements and dietary needs. Records patient data in medical records as assigned. Transports patients to other departments for testing as needed. As unit secretary, assists with order entry, answers telephone, takes messages, makes contacts as directed, works fax machine, completes supply order weekly, and assists nursing staff as able with clerical duties. Reports to the charge nurse during workday and/or unit director.
