Responsible for investigating, measuring, validating or verifying the quality attributes of the system including scalability, reliability and resource usage; provide performance engineering recommendations to improve overall performance; ensure unit level performance testing and application performance; provide expert level skills working closely with the team to identify and document performance test requirements; Provide comprehensive performance test consultation including resolving routine performance problems in pre-production and production environments; perform quantitative analysis and make recommendations on optimal configuration settings to enhance significant performance and efficiency; create, update and maintain existing product level automated performance test scripts; schedule, execute and monitor performance tests; execute senior level Network throughout and Latency performance testing and use quantitative engineering methods to analyze, measure and correlate application performance; manage planning and set-up of test regions and environments, including configuration control; provide senior level analysis of the performance test results; utilize platform specific tools to measure performance in both real time and post-test analysis modes; identify and report all testing related issues and risks and ensure that defect tracking process results in performance and efficiency improvements; apply criteria to determine each component (stored procedures, servlets, JSP, transaction programs, batch programs, etc.) meets standards for performance and efficiency; develop and maintain tools and techniques used to automate tests (e.g., HPE Performance Center, Cucumber, Selenium, QTP/UFT (Quick Test Professional/Lean FT).
Requirements:
Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another directly related IT field and two years of experience in job offered or as a Quality Assurance (QA) Tester; or Bachelor's plus five years of experience.
Background in education, training or experience must include demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities; strong product domain knowledge; automating performance testing and/or developing business features/capabilities; knowledge of web application infrastructure (e.g. application servers, messaging, databases), client areas business functions and systems, QA test methodologies required to satisfy integration, performance testing, and software testing tools; senior level knowledge of multiple IT platforms including Netcentric, UNIX, Mobile, IBM Mainframe, OS 390, Microsoft Windows, Client Server; senior level knowledge of performance monitoring and analysis tools (HP Performance Center, VUGen, etc.) and performance engineering techniques and best practices; strong knowledge with Junit, Jasmine, Easy Mock, HTTPWatch, JMeter, JProfiler, etc.; strong knowledge of current versions of the following products: Outlook, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.; strong knowledge of object-oriented concepts and application; and proficient knowledge of Agile/Lean software development principals.
