Job Summary

On an independent and self-directed basis, provide engineering and operating support in the Electric Distribution Department focused on preserving EDs distribution system capability to serve both new and existing customers in a reliable, safe, and economic manner.
Duties and Responsibilities

* Design, engineer, and layout identified large distribution improvement projects (line additions, rebuilds, and relocations) including production of design packages and cost estimates. These projects are primarily focused on reliability within the context of the Divisions Long-Term Infrastructure Improvement Plan (LTIIP).
* Meet with customers and identify their service requirements, design and layout line extensions and produce project design packages and cost estimates
* Design, engineer and administer the distribution device sectionalizing program. This includes single and three-phase manually switched devices and fuses.
* Perform special projects and other related engineering functions including assist preparing and administering the department budget, shadow higher grade engineers, assist in restoring service to customers after storms and other system trouble.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Knowledge of UGI's distribution line construction standards, methods, and equipment.
* Knowledge of National Electric Safety Code and National Electric Code. PA 1-Call, and OSHA regulations pertaining to electric distribution work. Knowledge of UGIs safety rules.
* Knowledge of electrical distribution equipment & power requirements.
* Knowledge of UGIs Electric Service Tariff.
* Knowledge of the UGI contractor/procurement process and the ability to develop a comprehensive scope of work.
* Knowledge of end-use electrical equipment including lighting, electric machinery, and other electric apparatus.
* Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and effectively both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ability to deal with the public and represent the company in a professional manner. Ability to organize and deploy resources effectively.
* Ability to work independently and manage projects from start to completion. Ability to adapt standard practices to meet unique customer needs.
* Knowledge of UGI internal systems such as SAP, DOJM and other systems.

Education and Experience

* Four-year B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering.
* This position recommends one to five (5) years of experience with increasing responsibility and skill level.
