We are currently recruiting highly qualified candidates, whose background and career goals meet our needs, for the following position in our Huntsville, AL facility. Please note that due to our Department of Defense contract requirements, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.
Position Title: Manufacturing Supervisor
Job Purpose:
Directs the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the staff. Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Plans and administers procedures and budgets. Makes budgetary recommendations regarding and, at higher levels, controls capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor. Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Nature of Duties:
* Hands on Supervisory position in which an individual is expected to provide assistance to the Manufacturing Manager as well as acting as a technical subject matter expert for work cell.The primary responsibilities of the Supervisor include directing job assignments and providing technical hands on leadership to the production staff. As a member of SCI management, this position is responsible for conveying a professional attitude towards other employees while recognizing the responsibility to meet production schedules.
* Supervise and assist in the training of production processes. Provide training, guidance and coaching to employees in a consistent and constructive manner.
* Communicate shift activity to personnel and keep them informed of the changes to equipment, processes and materials / supplies.
* Monitor the efficiency and quality of all production jobs. Review goals of cells daily and identify root cause if goal was not obtained, report findings.
* Work closely with peers to develop good team working relationship and cross shift team relationships.
* Prepare product shipments, including the review of internal material travelers and related documents prior to authorization of shipments.
* Conduct performance appraisals and communicate information to senior management.
* Manage employee conduct or performance problems in a manner consistent with SCI policies. Refer to Human Resources for advice and consultation as needed.
* Work with Quality to implement and monitor quality awareness and improvement programs.
* Ability to work in a fast pace manufacturing environment. Must have interpersonal skills to effectively motivate others. Excellent organizational skills to effectively manage multiple priorities.
Education and Experience:
* Minimum 3+ years of Supervisory experience in electronic production environment (SMT experience recommended).
* Manufacturing experience (electronic and/or mechanical) of 5 years.
* Minimum High School Diploma education level (Bachelors degree in related field recommend)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs is required
